‘Having worn the same hearing aids for five years I realised that I had lost more of the higher frequencies and that it was time to have my hearing tested again.
It was during the extensive tests that I came to understand the relationship between hearing and the processing of what I was hearing.
“It was this realisation that made me appreciate how important the work of the audiologist is and also how necessary a full hearing test is before any changes can be made.”
At each stage of the tests I was given a full explanation of what was being tested and more importantly, why. Hearing aids were supplied and programmed to suit my particular hearing loss and at follow up sessions the programming was slightly revised to match, more clearly, my experiences and requirements in the real world.
The end result …… is that I am enjoying so much more of the sound world.
