Tinnitus Facts and Treatment

At the Hearing Healthcare Practice in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, we have many clients who seek advice and help with their Tinnitus and Tinnitus Treatment.

Hearing Healthcare Practice Audiologist, Jo Rae, takes a particular interest.

Tinnitus is the medical term for the sensation of hearing sounds (usually noise or ringing) in your ears when no external sound is actually present and is one of the most common otologic problems.  According to the American Tinnitus Association, 50 million people in the USA experience tinnitus but, only approximately 12 million actually seek medical help.

There are numerous causes that lead to Tinnitus including excessive noise exposure, head and neck injuries, ear infections and stress. Although tinnitus is more common among older people, it can affect all ages.
