Meet KEMAR (Knowles Electronics Acoustic Research Mannequin). Kemar is used extensively in hearing technology research and development – the hearing technology we use every day to help transform people’s lives.
Kemar has the average dimensions of a human adult – right down to its ear which matches and replicates the acoustic response of the auricle, ear canal and eardrum of a median ear (in terms of dimension and acoustic impedance).
Every hearing device we use in our work is approved first by KEMAR in an anechoic chamber (more about this in our next post).
