The annual Global Audiology Congress is just weeks away and we’re looking forward to hearing about the latest advances in hearing aid technology.
One thing that has grabbed our attention already is a new generation of smart hearing aids that incorporate machine learning.
Machine learning uses statistical techniques to give computer systems the ability to learn – progressively improve their performance of a specific task – without being explicitly programmed.
If our initial understanding is correct this could soon allow people to ‘grade’ how things sound, so their hearing aids learn how things need to sound to be clear and comfortable, providing a highly personalised soundscape.
Exciting… what this space for more news when we have it.
