Happy Easter to all patients, clients and visitors. Spring has arrived officially along with British Summer Time but we are all still feeling the continuing effects of winter. This week our senior audiologist Robert heads off to Anaheim in California for the annual American Academy of Audiology congress. The reason for the trip is to meet up with colleagues, researchers, scientists and friends in the audiology community to share ideas and learn how we can help our clients and patients even more. A wise man once said “The only constant in life is change” and that has never been more true than in the world of audiology. More and more evidence-based research points to the imperative need to address hearing difficulty as early as it is presented. The reasons are numerous. Links to degenerative conditions that only present in later life, it is our clinical and professional duty to highlight the positive effects of improving hearing and overall quality of life. The annual meeting in America gives us the opportunity to fuel our enthusiasm in our chosen field. It will be a whirlwind trip with two days of travelling and two on the ground (so no chance to enjoy the Californian sunshine). Before the week is out Robert will be travelling back to the UK. Our work doesn’t stop in his absence as Jo & Zoe will be in attendance at practice throughout the week. There is never a better time than now to arrange an appointment with one of our clinical team. If you have never been in before we would urge you to make that call now. If you have had hearing aids more than four years we recommend having a check up. Sometimes we suggest a clean of hearing aids, other times an adjustment is all that is needed. If you are able to consider upgrading to the latest innovative technology we are sure that the rewards will be more than significant for you. To all to everyone else Happy Easter
