It is likely something you have probably never thought about, unless you have experienced how unpleasant it can be to have a blocked ear. Ringing sounds, pain, disorientation, reduced hearing, unsteady on your feet, unable to tell which direction sound is coming from. The list of symptoms goes on and on.
Our wax removal service has been operating since 2011 and in that time, thousands of happy people have passed through our doors. Microsuction is currently unregulated, resulting in services springing up in a variety of outlets from the backroom in chemists, opticians, chiropodists and even in your own home. Whilst some are competent providers delivering an excellent service, in the absence of any regulatory controls, there are also some questionable practices out there too.
We are concerned with some of the methods employed, clinical competencies, equipment used, hygiene controls in place as well as the qualifications and experience on offer.

There is wise advice which states the only thing you should put into your own ears is your elbow. Our advice is if you are entrusting someone else to check and clean your ears, we recommend asking who is carrying out the procedure, what qualifications they have, what equipment they use, what hygiene controls are in place and they fully insured?
