Children’s Headphones – the dangers

Children’s Headphones – peace and quiet for parents maybe, but a major concern for audiologists. The dangers of headphones can affect ears at any stage of life but we are seeing an increase in noise induced hearing loss in youngsters. Crucially, these problems don’t go away and can stay with the listener for life.

Researchers at the National Acoustics Laboratory in Australia have gone as far as claiming that we are seeing a generational shift in hearing loss from parents to children.

At Hearing Healthcare Practice we welcome many young people seeking our help but they media still perpetuates the myth that hearing issues are the sole preserve of the elderly.

Noise induced hearing loss is preventable and can affect all ages. Do your bit and promote #safesound to your kids and grandkids.
